This Refund Policy explains when and how you can obtain a refund for a Finrys paid subscription. It complements Section 4 (Subscriptions, billing and cancellation) and Section 5 (EU right of withdrawal) of our Terms of Service.
1. Cancellation of recurring subscriptions
You can cancel a Finrys subscription at any time from your account settings (Settings → Subscription → Manage). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you retain full access to paid features until that date, after which your account reverts to the free tier.
We do not pro-rate refunds for unused portions of an already-paid period (monthly or annual). Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
2. EU 14-day right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from a distance contract under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (the "Consumer Rights Directive").
Important — digital service waiver: By starting to use any paid feature within those 14 days, you expressly request immediate access to the digital service and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has begun, in line with Article 16(m) of the Directive. If you subscribe and never use a paid feature, you can withdraw within 14 days of subscribing for a full refund.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, write to info@finrys.com from the email address tied to your Finrys account, within 14 days of your initial subscription, with the subject line "Withdrawal request". We confirm receipt within 1 business day and process eligible refunds within 14 days via the original payment method.
3. Discretionary refunds outside the 14-day window
Outside the EU 14-day window (and regardless of whether you are an EU consumer), Finrys may, at our discretion, grant a refund or service credit in cases of: (a) a confirmed technical defect that we cannot resolve and that materially prevents you from using the service; (b) an unauthorised or duplicate charge; (c) other circumstances we consider justified.
Discretionary refunds are not a right and are decided case-by-case. Contact info@finrys.com with the order ID, date, and a brief description of the issue. We aim to respond within 2 business days for Premium subscribers and within 5 business days for free-tier or anonymous users.
4. Chargebacks
Please contact us at info@finrys.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. The vast majority of billing issues are resolved within a single email exchange, and a chargeback can delay resolution by several weeks while the issuing bank investigates.
Initiating a chargeback for a charge that is legitimate under these terms (e.g. a renewal you forgot to cancel) may result in account suspension and the chargeback being contested with our Merchant of Record.
5. Mandatory consumer rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any mandatory consumer rights you may have under the law of your country of residence. If your national law grants you broader rights than those described above, those national rights apply.
